Hmm have split thoughts about this one, the basics are very good but there are some things that I don't like...
First of all the breakz are fantastic, really driving them dancing legs
Great work you've done there
The phased hihats in the beginning is a great idea too, sounds wicked, and the reversing on them is
Buildup is good too, nice drops
What I don't like is the bell type sound, it just doesn't fit in I think. Both the sound and melody are sucky. It kind of degrades the track IMO, leave it out
Soundwise I don't like the string sound in the beginning. The chords are fine but the sound is too dense, try making it wider and more spacey. The strings should definitely be stereo and have more depth. A trick: use 3-4 notes for the strings, one note an octave below the rest - keep the low one in the center and pan the other notes in the stereo spectrum. Then add some stereo reverb and chorus and a light phaser for a more spacey effect.
The strings (violin) in the rest of the track is OK, but too loud, it would be better if it sits in the background and moves around in the stereo spectrum.
Mixwise you've done some great things (like changing the reverb on the kick) but there are some mistakes too. The snare just a tad louder (if you can do that, it's maybe part of a loop). The 'aaahh' sample may be quiter and with less low end in it.
I feel like the bass is too loud, but I should hear it on a different system to be sure.
To wrap it up, the track has some serious dance floor potential but is let down by some factors. Plz remix it!!

Indeed, must agree about the strings. They sound very "early '90's cheap house track"-like. Sound a bit too lofi, and could certainly use some stereo-spread!
Like the bassline offcourse, but the way you change from the intro to the main bassline didn't sound right. It's more like mixing two tracks with a whole different feel.
Also, like P said, the snare could use a boost. Maybe layer another snare over thisone.
But don't get me wrong, overall it's not bad at all.

Thanx!!
nice to read replies like this.
I just uploaded another version (it's just a litlle better mixdown)
The strings from the intro are from an early 90's housetrack, i'm gonna try to fix them but i must confess i don't know how. I'll sort it out, no worries.
I also was in doubt about that 'bell sound' now i know i'm not the only one, i might change it into something else.
what am i doing here,
i'm off... remixing

New version can be found in the listen section - it's called '4K - Fantasy'
The old version is removed on 4Ks request.
Listening now, but will comment later... just got home for a quick bath but am off to Lommel again to work for Alphaville and Praga Khan on the Eurorock festival

nice track
sounds a bit cheapish in the beginning but it breaks down nicely and drops with nice beatwork (could be equalized better tho, maybe some fx here and there)
and in my head i hear those high spacy hysteric voices screaming or singing, but they aren't there, would be cool to put something like that there, if you understand me (think off the vocals in tech itch - set me free)
but nice track and nice mixing, sounds good !
keep it up

In the beginning, the bell sound would be much better if you made it a saw with a tweaked cutoff.
The breaks are really tight in this one, I like it a lot.
Bassline is tight, wish you added a shitload of mixing tricks to it though, instead of just playing with cutoff. Like if you retrigged some of the notes, went a little more nuts with the high/lowpass, added some gapping fx to it, it would really enhance the bassline. It's just repeating the same few notes as is.
Also... i'm very impressed if you have programmed these breaks, and have much respect for you if you have. (if you used loops, then that's another thing)
Also.... You said you the strings are from an early 90's house track? What's that all about? What else is taken from where? From face value a listener assumes it's all original, so reading that makes you wonder what's really involved in making a track... Are you using acid and pasting loops or what?
When it comes down to it though, this is a pretty tight track and I like it. For a lot of people it ends there. Good job anyhow, I'll check out the next track you post most def

Well, i'm still busy rmx-ing it
the bellsound is out finally, might add some xtra strings, dunno yet
about the breakz: i used loops but i did re-edit them(only a few loops are exactly the same)
dissapointed now? i think you would be very dissapointed if you knew how the 'big ones' work.
that intro string sound is idd sampled from an early 90 house track, but just the sound, not the melody
and i don't have to tell you everything do i?
