i had JX220,
this new version looks better and works better!
i love it!
i just got it yesterday so i have only made a few pads
with it but ill do more in the future 
you all need to grab this one!

i e-mailed that guy that made this synth,
i was telling him about my dream synth but it was
just a deam... he helped me see how some of the
stuff i suggested was un-nessissary.
here was our big blabbernickle 
he said:

They are free because they've made their money and now it's time to give
back to the public.
Regarding your idea for a synth...
It would not be too difficult, it would take about 6 weeks if I constantly
worked on it, but I have a job and a life which get in the way.
If you wanted to write it yourself you could try synthedit, I've never used
it before but I think I remember what it does. Don't you need to program c++
with synthedit?
The other alternative is Reaktor, that can be very good for mocking up a
synth. You can't mock up the gui exactly, but the gui is secondary anyway.
I don't think drawing wave shapes for oscillators is that useful, you have
to get the right balance of harmonic frequencies which is almost impossible
with a free hand wave tool. It could be more useful for envelopes, but then
there are good examples of how to do that already e.g. absynth.

i had an idea for a new synth but no one realy
went and did this that ive seen.
i think the best synth would be like this:
6 oscilators, a system that you could use
to draw the wave shapes of each oscilator
(drawing and saving the shapes would be the
most powerful aspect of the synth.)
and envilopes for each oscilator.
then make a master pitch, volume, and pan
control. then have 2 filters, one high pass and
one low pass, then add a built in peremetric EQ.
dont add any effects, just let people use their
own effect plugs on the synth.

can it be done using synth edit?
maybe you have other things in your life then
a computer, but im computing all the time.
if you do have the time to make that i think
it would be awsome because i have never seen

id make some demo songs and a presents
arcive and some FL-Studio project files
with small song loops on them all to help
you out, and of corse i would do that for free,
because if you add enough you can make the
program so big that it is only bought on a disc,
if it is so big that it needs a disc this will help
make it harder for people to get the warez.
if it was too big to download on dial up
then they would have to buy it.
anyways its all just a little though.
