Please check out my new track 'Metasyphillus' and post your comments here!!!
This was sequenced using battery in Protools. The samples were tweaked in battery. The Bass was recorded direct thru Avalon 737sp with minimal comp. and re- compressed with T-Racks. I also used a Waves L2 Stereo bus compressor/ Dither to convert from 24 Bit. This is my attempt at DnB meets Miles Davis Silent way/ LIVE EVIL meets Petit mal seizures. The title should say it all- how's the mix sound to y'all?
This track has been deleted. Reason: cleaning up old tracks

Weirdness factor 200%
I don't really like it, it's very original, but you've overdone the "human" feeling. It sounds like it was a jam by a drunk drummer, a stoned tambourine player and a nervous bass player. Everything is played hasty, something which reminds me of nervous musicians in the studio.
If you have played it all manually, try to concentrate on the beat while recording, and be more relaxed - a 'lazy' playing style (some notes played a bit after the beat) sounds nicer than a hasty playing style.
If you have programmed it, try to do the same. Quantize key elements such as kick and snare quite rigidly (say around 95%) so you have a tight basic rhythm. The hihats and tambourine may be a bit off, but never too fast (= before the beat).
Quantizing is the key here, if everything was played more tightly it would be a much better track.
The use of effects is nice though, the reverbs sound really sweet. Placement of sounds has a nice depth too.

Yeah, have to agree with thechronic: very weird, very offbeat...
But then the structure needs work too. There's no real buildup anywhere or anything, it's just random variations of the same stuff the whole time...
The soundquality is quite good though, but there's more to it than just that offcourse
1/5

In opposite of the rest i think this is really cool inspirational and much more exciting then the standard jump-the-fuck-up drumnbass. verry movie-wise too. I would add more variations in it but the concept s really great.
dont go casual!!!!!!
(maybe some layering in the sound)

I defintely know this tune isn't for everyone, nor is it a dance tune, but if you listen carefully the basic kick snare pattern is pretty tight, although there are certain random patterns triggered off by the kick. The structure as I built it is introducing underlying rythmic elements and then re introducing them mo' hectic. Basically syphillus is a 3 stage disease starting with outbreak then dormancy then creeping dementia. And now I've subjected you to both a musical experiment and an amateur STD lecture. Thanks for the feedback.
Muphasta- thanks for feelin me on this one..
err...and thanks to my agent, lawyer, and Buddhajesusallah and Mom who bought me my first dime bag and never told me no.
night night...

sounds like something you would hear in a weird foreign film during a chase scene.......hehe......i like it though. not for the dance floor, not for the average human being, but definately for me. as a collector and admirerer of all things strange and unusual......it's definately a keeper, i'll throw it down into a mix tonight if i'm really feeling anxious, the crowd's gonna flip.....but probably not in a good way. people will be crying.....others will be screaming......the babies will grow tentacles and start to dance that funky funky mash dance you hear about on the radio......FEED THE BEARS!!!!

its like stutteing while doing a tongue twister. Some of the sounds are interesting it reminds me of some of my first mix tapes. the break was a nice relief to hear. i like the liquid drop sounds. and the snap on the snare was excellent. a good track to add some ompph to something
