Tonight (1.50 cet) the 75th oscar ceremony (jeez, what a name
) will take place. Anyone watching? It's live on BBC1. I'll give it a shot, never done it before, but I've hear it's boring as hell (more than 4 hours
) and I guess I'll fall asleep
But I guess thisone is going to be intresting, since all winnes are alowed to say what they think of the 2nd gulfwar, unlike at the BAFTA's. I'm looking forward to the speach of Michael Moore (Bowling for Columbine) who is very anti-Bush
. I really hope he wins! He deserves it!
Anyway, I really hope it's not half as boring as I'm told...

What sucked:
- Chicago got to many awards, especially in cathegories where other films where better (best film
)
- Frida got to many awards
- LotR: The Two Towers wasn't nominated (and thus not awarded) for best makeup
- When people's speach took too long, te totally sucky music faded in rudely, and the mic was pulled away. Totally respectless for the winners!
What was positive:
- Nicole Kidman won as best actress, not Renee Zellweger
(was close I guess)
- Michael Moore won, and gave a cool speach
- Gael García Bernal misused his introduction to make a clear statement against the war
Some people clearly didn't like that
- Martin Scorsese didn't win the Best Director award... sad, altho Roman Polanski is very nice too
- Spirited Away won as best animated feature instead of the expected Ice Age (which was great too)
- Zus & Zo didn't win as foreign language film
A bit sad Charlie and Donald Kaufman didn't win for adapted screenplay, I would have liked to see a fictious character receiving his award
