Please check out my new track 'rockahouse' and post your comments here!!!

I wanted to build a straight forward tune. with an eye on the floor. basic tune with a straight line towards the end.
please note that this is an unfinished and unmastered version. aka a preview of what is about to come. share your thoughts. thanx

edit by thechronic:
track removed, it's going to be released!!

Wow!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

in chronological/respecting-the-track's-timeline and even alphabetical order

*Airfull but funky.
*Damn sweet sub!!
*Evocative smooth drums.
*Impressive breakdown and drop!
*Nice grainy wah-basses.
*Very effective build-ups and scientifically outdrawn dancefloor-madness-ingredients.
*Xtra-ordinary dj-friendly also: intro, main, long ending

Me yells 'TUUUUUUNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!'

Definitely worthy candidate of the 'Track Of The Month', i'd say.

rockers rocks the rock out of the rockahouse

yeah mighty tune. personally i'm not for the tranzy chords in the begining.but when the beat drops, it all comes together (very bad company). maybe snare's a little weak. bass sounds good. Its also a bit monotone for my judgement. (just the kind of sub-genre). I really think you should roughener your snare drum. maybe also a few other sounds that you dont really hear but are actually indeed there.
nice going
3,5/5

cheers

def. man!

it's only a work in progress, i really need to ruffen up the snare idd.
the others sounds are idd a bit to quiet, that's endmix and leveling. something for the end process.

and i admit it's a bit monotone but that was the intention. i listened to a few tracks of the same type and kinda worked around that.
now i got my base, i am gona tweak this fucker to oblivion

cheers!

Good song. The drop is well done. I enjoyed the sub bass. It would be nice if the bass changed up a bit after the second drop. The evil noise going with the bass is deadly. I would turn it up.

nice work.

so here's my review:
nice pad you got there, good use of percussion, subbass is nice and clear, synth bass is great too, hmm great work with panning ... , as someone before me said it's quite monotone song, i think it's so. the track is better at the end, after the drop.

But i think it's great dancefloor track.

The intro is great...perfect for a good mix...as said above, very BCUK...also the first drop needs added bassdrum, and snare...its sounds liek your change snares, and drop your kick a lil bit...making it sound quiet...imo...i like the bass...it reminds me of a human track...i relaly like the percussion...i love rambling hi's....the second breakdown is cool...but again you drop the kick..and snare...all in all this track is super dope...pretty nice to dance too....cant wait to here the finished version...4/5

Excellent tune..

good start, but maybe too straight forward. No build up. Not excatly my style.

The break rules. That is WHAT I CALL FLOW!
And that female vocal in the begining, that is sweet... don't get me wrong here.

That voice which starts at 01:30, slowly comes and is affected by filter... that rules...
oops, here comes the build up. DAMN THIS IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

But, not that good. The build up is DAMN GOOD but the break after the build up is not what I have expected. I expected something hard with that kind of a build up. Nevermind, this rules though.

I can notice that your EQuing is excellent. Everything takes its place on the spectrum, no glitching, no escaping the 0dB line... nice.

The second build up is even better! And again, the break suits not. DAMN MAN WHY DID YOU DO THIS?! Smile

The ending is good, the break rolles...nice nice...

Bigup bigup man, you deserve it.

4.25/5

Drums sound crisp with a nice groove to them, like the subtle bongo hits. Varied and crisp synths going on. Like the timpani that backs up the synth. The timpani stab bit is by far my favourite aspect of this tune. I'm not really a fan of that "Dreamfinder" hardcore stab, but you've managed to use it in a varied way

cheers.

i'll colorise my repies according to the quotes Big Grin
i got the same feeling, it's not hard enough after the drop but it's a bitch to get it right, but working on it. don't want to change the "part after the drop" idea...my intention was to keep it very simple and rollin, i thought the stabby build up in the break was enough to guide the track. but i guess i'll rework the "riff" after the drop into something harder... ....

proper cheers. still need to EQ and master though.

hmmm duno Big Grin , the break does not suit? you mean the little silence right before it drops? i got another version with a full bar of drums, but i thought that didn't work.

thanx! still working it out but this version will be tested this friday anyways Big Grin

Good intro.

Buildup raises expectations... which aren't completely met since you go for a low-prodile drop... with a sweeeeet filtered bassine. Really love thatone. Warm and deep. Bigup

Drums sound a bit thin, give them more mid and punch! And make them a tad louder too.

Like the parts where the percussion plays the melody Big Grin

Simple but dark track which in a way reminds me of )EIB( - The Nine, must be the bassline and that structure Big Grin

4/5 for the track
3.5/5 for the mixdown, the drums really sound too thin.

variety, thats the only word i can think of.
maybe try this at parts, replace all hats with some new hats rides and bells, then switch back later,
then switch all the hats with pure synth drums, then later switch back. this kind of thing revives the beat and keeps it more vital.
just a though, but try it some time,
and damn, if you use FL-Studio send me a PM and then i can show you what im talkin about insead of just saying.

its not my genre so i cant make a fair rating,
but i liked all the background effects and would love if you keeped on changing the drums and you went and made the beat evolve and mutate, when composing i find that when im making the beat evolve and mutate after a while it will get better then i previously could comprehend.... its hard to explain but realy worth a try!

My dear SA4,

A very straightforward and funky beat comming out of the speakers right now. Listening to the tune for the third time in a row now, indeed something completely diff from what I heard before from you. This is really my style, like the percussion a lot, very fine rythm.. Very dj-friendly indeed, as Soi already stated.

Great work, hope to hear some new work from this Moniker soon, though the end is a bit too long... (but hey, DJ's never mix that long) Pleased

Hope to see ya soon again, I understand now why we don't see you anymore...

Keep up the good work!!!

Greetz,

K-Nine
