Agreed for the first-one, but for the 2nd and 3rd only if you take the special editions/director's cuts.... I personally like the 1st most. I'm wasn't that impressed by the 2nd, though it is a very good movie. The third 'theater' version sucked imho, mostly storyline consitency. I had to review this completely when I saw the director's cut. Both the 2nd and 3rd movies's director's cuts are quite a bit longer (the one 20, the other 30 minutes!) - and a lot better than the originals...


PS: Pirates of the caribian 2 sucks... If you liked the first, don't go see it...

bought Cannibal Holocost recently in Australia, which is a bit weird, i thought it was banned in australia.

but anyhoo... i thought it was alright, some people talk it up a bit,
but the only bits that disturbed me was the animal cruelty parts, specially the sea turtle. but the human deaths were fake, but nicely done. At the end i was dissappointed... i wanted to see more gore, and real like snuff style shit lol.

ofcourse. I actually think of the first two as a single whole movie where the first is an introduction to the alien world with a horrorish aspect to it. the second movie is where the mayhem culminates with much more action

Cannibal Holocaust is a good movie, and probably the best of its kind (that ive seen) but its most definitely over-hyped.

You can buy it over here in the UK but the BBFC has slashed it by 6 mins or so - removing all the animal stuff and some of the sexual violence. I got my uncut pirate copy off ebay years ago before they clamped down on shit like that.

They did it with an automated process they developed. It was first used for the movie Waking Life, also by Linkater, but they perfected and streamlined it for this movie. Looks really good!

man this is a loooong ass topic. got me thinking though but one of the best films ive seen for 2006 was saw 3. as a matter of fact, the whole damn SAW series was sick! a fucking brilliant movie, well i think soo anyways. gotta say one of the biggest let downs this year was "hostel". I got soo hyped up on that movie cuz everyone was talking about how it was soo sick and twisted to find out it was just like any other slash'em up horror flick. i seen they got a second one in the making, so maybe that one will be better. Roll Eyes
