Helped me alot getting one ! Being able to just sit and play around and discovering melodies and rythms etc. really makes producing more fun and sometimes much more easy.
I recently bought an Akai MPK Mini. It's really affordable, portable and suits most of my needs.

I say go for it!
Really, if your producing electronic music it's sort of a must hehe =P

Remembered I commented on this thread. Just purchased a M-Audio Oxygen Midi Controller and maaaan.... for the price it's amazing! Recommended!
