Hey guys. For years I have been ensuring that my pre-master tracks are not limited in any way - i.e. just reducing the volume of the master out on the main output. I leave the limiting for the mastering engineer.

Watched a Delta Heavy tutorial where they said that they have the project limiting while they are mixing and tweak the levels accordingly. I also recall in another article that Rob Swire has a limiter on the main out at the start of a project and just mixes around the limiting.

Would be interested to hear what others do...

Depends on what your engineer requires.

Well they usually don't want the track limited. Just wondering what other methods people use.
