Please check out my new track 'The Good Old Days' and post your comments here!

Something I wiped up in some weeks...was going for a very mellow tune here!

Sounds good, I love that old skool bass around 0:40. How did you make that?
Those pianos are a bit too loud in the mix, plus I would make a harmonic melody with it that fits with the bass instead of using the same one.
And the vocals are also kinda messy.

If I were you I would go oldskool on this track, remove some of the vocals, let the bass be the central part of your track en add some variation in the drums.
Good effort! It's not bad Smile

The bass, I have a sample that i modded a bit and well used a pretty simple 3 stabs per octave...if that makes any sense

As for the vocal, they are messy when I listened to the track here for some reason, but the original mp3 on my pc is crystal clear...

As for the pianos, I was more focusing on the pianos than the bass...

the thing is, everyone hears the track different, I mean equipment vise, I don't have studio headphones, I'm using my gaming ones, how I hear it might differ from how you do...as the bass in my gaming headphones is usually stronger...so i cranked the pianos up until I was satisfied they weren't muffled by the bass.

I do what I can with the resources I have...

Thanks for the review though.

Love the intro not sure about the kick flurry. Beats are pretty tight. You could use a better chord between the reese and pad they don't quite fit. Vocals are pretty random but cool. Nice ideas, quite a nice vibe overall, keep it up.

nice track. agree with skinley, the reece doesnt sound like its in the same key as the chords. would love to hear more of that reece in this tho. bass sounds a bit dry and the tune in general sounds like its lacking some processing in general but i cant put my finger on why, but im guessing its a frequency thing cos it sounds fine on the reece at the start. maybe could use some eq and reverb and/or delay on the piano sounds and vocals. really good track in general though, i do like the vocals and the concept of the track is really good. keep working on it

intro goes well. missin smth in the snare thou, maybe some more layering would do it. somehow waiting for a drop or smth now. vocal at 2.06 is great. sub could be louder for my taste. lots of nice ideas overall, but they dont add up together for me, maybe some more structure would help, some switchup in the drums, bring in some hats/rides or smth. or a clear drop Wink definitely some good vibes in there!
cheers!
