Being here for less than one day and already plugging my own tune, featuring Charly B. (Red Hemp Sion Soundsystemp, Nyon, Switzerland)

Anyway, it's far from being perfect but check it out and post your comments here. Pleased

Be kind people, it's my first ragga-jungle experiment.

Here's my thoughts...

I'd add some more 'dub' sound effects, weird noises, bizarre synths, heavily delayed (fed back into itself after fx) - if you get my meaning.

Also I'd start it with just some vocals, fx, etc. make it sound like a track at 1/2 the speed to throw the listener off course, slow bassline etc. before layering in the fast drums.

Go easy on the cricket sfx.

The drums are also lacking a certain something - hard to put my finger on... try layering seperate loops, chopping bits out of each.

Also the bassline and drums don't seem to 'fit' with the vocals - maybe that's what's throwing me (they seem like they are from different trax).

Something else you might consider - not overly relating to the track but a neat technique... Try recording the vocals multiple times then panning the various lines (e.g. one centre, one to left, one to right). It really fattens up a vocal line with the slight pitch/timing variations between each take. I probably wouldn't do that all the way through a track but for the 'hook' and chorus it works a treat!

Hope this helps! Wink

so here's my review:

vocals are great, i like beats, sub bass is wicked, it's so sub, i almost don't hear it, mayby a little bit of distortion could give it a taste. I think there are too many vocals going in some part of song. So if this is your first try in jungle - Bigup
About the production side - it can be ...

It's not my style of music I'm making, but it's quite good.

I'd give it 3/5

yo
i like the jungle style tune its all good although i do think that the vocals seem a bit out of time to the music itself, if they fitted in well it would be a good track
but for a first jungle tune its not too shabby at all Smile

I'll start out with saying that I don't really like (as in: don't like at all) ragga style vocals, so I'll comment on the other stuff mainly. I'll say about it that I think they're too loud Wink

Sub is deep and warm, so thats good.

Drums are but are a bit overpowered by the vocals...
Give your hats and rides more +10khz to give your breaks a more clear sound.

Amenedits are nice but quite messy, but I guess that was your intention?

The filtered sound is kinda cool but it's not strong enough to cary the whole track, maybe you should add a more clear synthline or something.

About the structure: quite good exept for one fact: you use up all the vocals in your first minutes and then it's only music... which leaves an empty fealing. You should spread out the vocals more equally throughout the track...

2.5/5
