Hi!

Ok, maybe a basic question. If I listen to professional dnb, especially neurofunk (kung, billian, maztek, etc.) I hear in there drum loops sort of sidesound (extra percussion) It's like this:

Kick - snare - sort of drum fast drum roll - snare

example:

I've tried to listen carefully, but never I become something as good as thing

Searching patterns on internet hasn't helped to much.

I feel really challenged to say: "well, then you are not professional" Tongue
It's all about layering (parts of) percussion(breaks) onto the rest of the drums.
I made about a 1000 breaks by now and I'm still learning.

that drum roll between the two snares is just:

hi hat - ghost snare - hi hat - ghost snare

ghost snare is a really quiet, fast decay snare
