I produced this track and shot the video during a trip to Europe in the summer. Please view it in 1080p if possible, it looks a lot better in HD.
The entire film was shot using a Canon Rebel XT. I took individual frames and then compiled them into an animation. The whole video took about a month to complete.
I have absolutely no following so far, so I posted up the full length songs on my Soundcloud and am giving this one away free for download. If I can build up a fan base through this type of promotion I'll be in much better standing to have my work signed in the future.
And being so lucky as a European hopefully you recognize some of the views in the video?

Giving tunes away for free is a bad idea.
Nobody will sign it and as an artist you are not taken serious by potential labels.
Don't do it.
You don't need no following, you need labels and send your tune to them.

But ...
BD it's highly unlikely they'd sign it if it's floating about on the interwebs already either.
If it had been sent in as an exclusive & then had video released after/when signed it would have a greater impact. (well imo)
One of my views on signing tracks is not to put "unsigned" in the track title as to me I just think the person who made it is an egotistical bugger & I won't even bother to look at the track regardless of how good it might be. (my opinion at any rate)
What do you do on MD/IDJ finding tune wise/signing artists/music - exclusive/none exclusive?
BTW @ Phalanx - The video is really nice man & it still looks bloody good at 320 let alone the full HD
Music not really something I'd listen to but I appreciated it for what it is & it fit the video great
The moving train & car bits made me feel a wee bit BLEH !!! (glad I've not been drinking) - hehe.
Safe

We never sign exclusive at IDJ/MD. If someone has UNSIGNED writen in the tune description you can be sure that he is looking to get it signed.
We discovered tunes that were fantastic but the producer didn't even want it signed to anyone.

Being picked up by a label means "they find you good enough".
It does help.
In DnB you can only be someone if you have tunes released on 4-5 major labels.
If you are planning on becoming a professional DJ or live artist this (the NIN approach) could work. But it isn't al that funny to do (airplane-hotel-stage-hotel-airplaine REPEAT).

I can only think of one person on here (used to be on here rather) that meets what you've said ... B-Complex.
having said that both ketan & adam are doing well atm (ketz & fortitude) as having tunes signed to good rep labels & airplay on major fm radio stations helps a lot in getting signed to even bigger labels.
sometimes I think music business is more about who you know rather than anything else.
pithy ***
btw you don't really need a label as bd said as you can just set up a bandcamp & set prices or donate what you want - although being signed to labels can give you a big boost in right direction in terms of recognition & more chance for airplay on fm or web radio
some blah blah along those lines (sorry am half asleep & about to go to bed so not in mood to check exactly what I've typed/written)
