X HertZ first emerged on the music scene in 2001 under his turntablist name DJ Quest. As a turntablist he was fascinated by the unique sound of scratching after listening to the album 'Step in the Arena' by Gang Starr.
He began making waves on the DJ Battle scene by ranking second place in the London DMC Championships in 2001 and 2002. He then went on to become the South East Mixing Champion, London DMC and UK DMC Mixing Champion in 2003 and ranked world number 3 in The World DMC Finals that year. He spent the next few years touring around the world headlining nights alongside artists such as; Common, Estelle, De la Soul, Blak Twang, Roots Manuva, Full Cycle DJ’s and Pendulum. He is still considered by many to be one of the country’s leading turntablists.
X HertZ has been a keen follower of the drum and bass scene and bass heavy music which with the Dubstep wave inspired him to begin writing tracks and developing skills with production partners K-So and Ashley Hill. X HertZ has become an established producer working with Radiance, Terminal, Ms Glass, Sir Plus and Jimi Presha among others.
As a diverse and talented musician X HertZ also writes underground hip hop and grime and has featured as an MC with Jimi Presha on 'Addicted To Drama'.
As a performer X HertZ has a well earned reputation for impressive live shows with K-So showcasing innovative turntablist performances and tearing bass heavy music.
He is currently working on big bass fusion music and Dubstep both as a solo artist and with K-So due for release soon.
