Please check out my new track 'The Phat Man' and post your comments here!!!

It's an old project (nr 37) of mine that has been in the works for quite some time, but I never finished it. Now I did, but when I listen too it, it's too simple, but I wanted to share it with you anyway.
Also, I fixed up the soundquality, but it's not a 100% yet either...
I got a little "surprise" at the ending ;)

Hope you like it, reviews most wanted :P

i like this , intro flows but i think the drums at the beginning really sound swamped...(unless u were going for that)

drops nice, beats now tuff. was suprised at the stereo bass line? (might have trouble on a 12)

think it needs alot more variation in all. but the amen work cant be faulted amen is dope(your strongest point) ........

nice overall...

regards

Ninj...

The stereo in the bassline is there coz the sample is in stereo... But I'm not sure if the sub of the bassline is stereo though, might be the mid only... But who would want to press this anyway Big Grin

i enjoyed it mate, but bit find its a little empty but not much and i think it because u mention it so i was looking for that, otherwise a good track mate , reminds me of early decoder stuff, one think that stood out for me was that snare, awsome sound

I like the beginning of the intro (till 20") it's a bit recognisable (some intro of Teebee was much alike if I remember correctly).
After that the beat is a bit too simple or maybe it's the whole that's a bit too empty for my taste.
Like the drop around 1'27" and build-up. From then on the whole isn't that empty and the track feels good. It's clearly your style of track from then on Big Grin
A good track besides the bit empty intro but not a thing that really keeps sticking in my head. 3.5/5

Hehe the end contains the new "watermark" in the tracks from Drumnbass.be?? Big Grin

I will be quick enough...

First, I don't like the first part of the tune.. it is somehow unreal, fictional... Smile the drums are good, but the snare sucks man.. ditch that Wink

The second rave part is better.... but it takes to much.. and that snare is bad... make the lower frequencies of the snare harder...

all well, nice done...

haha.. quote "drumnbass.be is such a cool site" ?! Big Grin

nice stuff.. like it 4/5

having the hats start off like that is very dj-friendly, and while the intro drums are very simple, once the ghosts come in it starts to pick up a bit...wasn't expecting the firefighter break---nice...i like how you edited it and chopped it...the only real 'problem' i find is that it's too simple overall...that distorted reecey synth is cool, but that alone can't carry the tune---either some vocal samples or some other sounds on top of that reece are needed to fill up the 'empty space' left by the reeceline...i feel that with some more work, this could be a pretty heavy tune, not sure if you wanna spend more time with this one or not....

Lol, every time I post a "quicky" tune here that I just sorta threw together, I get quite good reviews Big Grin

Seems everyone kinda dislikes the stepbreak... It isn't that good indeed, nowedays I would defo would use other drum samples, maybe I'll change it some day...

What I noticed when listening again, is that there is no decent sub, so maybe I'll add that later on...

Is a bit empty indeed, and I had some bleepy stuff coming in before the second drop, but it was awfulll and out of key, so I ditched it and I didn't feel like adding something else... Maybe some day...

Tnx for the kind words guys, I apreciate it Bigup

So...
Seems to me adding more details to the track is highly recomended. Nice delayed raves in intro. Maybe evaluate it further in the track- you never did it, except 3:25 - 3:45. OR like Dave said, add some vocals - this would kick ass i think. Breaks are fine, makes old school feeling. Second drop doesn't have enough power, it sould. Good basis, but adding more sounds won't hurt imho. Sound quality is good as always Wink
Rate for now is 3- of 5

hey,

first time I hear (music) something from you.
while downloading my mac crashed Evil .
anyway by the sounds you are drumnbassing for a long time now i guess.
its verry well EQ 'ed but I think there should be more variation in beats and basses. but i guess thats also just a personal opinion.
like i said you have an incredible frequency hearing.
I wunder what it would be like if you where dark break core step!!!!
maybe you should try it.

not that keen on jump-up

some awesome sounds in there bro. real like the crisp sounding hoovers. the beats at start are a little dull, they need sharpening up, the build up on the bass is real neat, maybe use it for longer and put some filters on it. NICE amen! sounds crisp but kind of drowns out the bass and hoovers. needs like a theme sample tho its just lacking that something that makes it sound different from the next D+B tune. nice tight production as id expect from surya Smile otherwise im feeling this tune

3.5/5

Sorry dude but it just sounds like Crackhead music to me ! There are far to many tracks out there that sound like this and it really does sound predated, people were making tracks like this in the early 90's and i would of thought that people would of progressed but obviously i am wrong :/
Sorry but this is just another irritating noise in my opinion....
If i liked hard DnB then i might like this track but i really find this type of DnB very irritating ! When people say i hate dnb as its just noise it is these kind of tracks they are refering 2... and for those who only hear mainstream DnB they think that this is the only type of DnB that exist which is far from the truth.
I think most peope seem to be making this type of DnB as they cant make anything musical...
Sorry but just my opinion

if you just said "i dont like it"
that would be good enough for me.

hey did you use "Feild" for the ambient soundscape
or what did you use ?
i have "Field" and its way better then all the other
stuff that that guy made.
maybe ambience generators are easier to make?
(*polts a future synth to make*)
and
Footlight

i want!

ill go google it, reply PLZ.
