It's supposed to be white... but older browsers use some kind of grey when no color is defined in the site... so in these browsers we get a gray dnb.be with pics that are formated for white... you get the picture. You might want to define the backgroundcolor to #FFFFFF in your pages 
edit: you might want to change the (c) year to 2002-2003 too

or maybe a blue background (as in f.e. #003366 that's a nice one, or something like that ...)
I think it would improve the level of "style" on the front page, and integrity ...

Yeah, but then the bitmaps have to be ajusted... and a fomum in the same color as the site doesn't hurt... and that means the whole forum should be revamped into blue-ish colors...

I prefer white 
My colour stylist has chosen white, grey and orange for me, with blue as contrast colour
