Please check out my new track 'Turn Up The Bass (dubstep) (givaway)' and post your comments here!

Been working on this for a long time now and havent been able to get anymore creative with it and have completely lost motivation with it too. If anyone wants it you can have it, just drop me a mail. Its on reason 5 and its ready to be sent with all the samples and bass patches included just in case it doesnt work properly.

Also have noticed a bass reduction when exporting with reason even on high bit depths? anyone noticed this or know why its happenning?

'anyone noticed a bass reduction when exporting with reason'
Sample: 'turn up the bass'
lol'd but im sorry im an FL user so cant help

i quite liek the track but all id say is you could do with a bit of something going on at the very start when its just drums, and you could do with a drop, coz atm it just kinda suddenly starts. i do quite like the high hypersaw kinda synths you got goin though.

drums could be a bit more interesting
mix and the master are pretty fine
not noticing use of many effects in this

I use different DAWs depending what im trying to do (including FL), and bounce sounds back and forth loads and rewire etc. and it gets petty turning the bass up every time i export something.
Looking for an answer to make it easier.

To be fair i had thought of that but i uploaded it cos i want to get rid of it but at the same time dont wanna see it wasted.

I think youve missed the whole concept of the bass question AND the reason for the upload but still, thanks for the comments

im on to now man, i didnt get what you meant by 'anyone wants it' i was pretty tired thought you meant 'free 320k download', messy brain and all that. but yeah it has a lot of potential to be a sick track with some tender love and care.

i thought you were asking for ideas of things to do to the track... hence why i gave them. sorry for any distress caused.

nothing is petty when it goes towards making the best possible music

i think reason has some really good features, but some aspects of it i really couldnt deal with. some daws make it easier to do different things but there is nothing that you can do in one daw that you cant in another (with enough effort/ know-how)

A fine quote. Still worth asking tho. Also simply turning the bass up every time i export also makes it hard to judge the bass levels themselves on the end result. Would much rather know if its some kind of setting i can change thats causing the problem.

Complex sidechaining and routing i find easier with reason because i can physically see where the sound signals are travelling (the floppy wires)
Sample merging i find easier on reaper (simple drags and clicks)
Sample chopping i find easier on flstudio
I only use samples for drums, all my other sounds (pads, basses etc) are from scratch or from my own patches that ive created myself. VST synthesisers are easy for me to use on fruity. on reaper i find it near impossible. the built in ones on reason i find a bit thin but i still use them for sound effects.

Bearing all this in mind, i dont think you can blame me for using multiple DAWs. Of course, you ARE correct with your statement but unless you pay for your stuff, sometimes its worth expanding your horizons to make things just that little bit easier to get things sounding the way you want them.

In music production you are ALWAYS learning. sometimes you will not learn something unless you try out new things.

For example, in your track 'The Galactic Clock Wip' i can tell you exclusively use flstudio because of the experience i have with it. This is not because flstudio produces a 'certain quality' or 'tone' of sound BUT it is still the fault of the DAW because it still pushes you in the direction to create that sound.

So unless you know flstudio INSIDE OUT and know sound physics and music production INSIDE OUT in order to manipulate it, its near impossible for you to exactly replicate something from one program/plugin/DAW to another to the point of nullification. Which i think is impossible and hasnt been done to my knowledge.

So if theres something you like about reason, maybe its worth you using it just for those features you like? You probably dont like working that way but give it a try before you commit your guns to being a one program man
