Give the tambourine hats a bit more brilliance (+10khz)

Vocal sounds quite low-fi, like it comes from a low birtate encoded mp3 or movie. And it's too loud. And it's a bit dull.

Drums are ok, but need a boost.

The biggest problem with the track is: it sounds a bit melancholic, not funky :s
At least, thats what it sounds like to me.

Gets a bit boring after a while too, with those string pads going on the whole time, and the piano just coming in and going again the whole time...

2.25/5

i like piano's in hardcore but im not feeling that dnb piano thing really, yeh i would agree and say the high end needs a boost, the tune sounds a bit flat, maybe make use of some good EQing and see how it goes.

This has melancholy written all over it indeed, with the slow sad melody line (is it written in minor?).

The melodies have a bit of a childish rhythm (no offence) - you place all your notes straightforward on 8/8 positions, try shifting some notes forward or backward, to get some notes off-beat, will make your melodies much more interesting!! Try using triplets, and definitely try imagining a melody and practise getting it out of your head and into your sequencer.
Buy a MIDI keyboard and start playing around with that, you'll notice it is much more creative than placing notes on a grid with your mouse Big Grin

The piano would sound better if shifted one octave upwards, would fill a gap in your frequency spectrum. Try it and see what I mean Wink

The drums are defenitely made with Reason, right?
I kinda like the straightforward 'childish' melodies.
It all sounds quite synth + midi. Try to put some more human vibe to it. The strings and bass could use some stronger character and identity.
The track is nice, but it seems to suffer a bit from the human vs machine-clash. But i know it's difficult to translate human melancholic ideas into patterns, wavefroms, blocks and loops.
So story/melddy m = good, producing = good, but the details need some refinement.
