How do I make oldskool jungle tracks, you know like Acen - Trip to the moon part II and stuff like that? And possibly like really early prodigy sounding things? I'm wanting to produce my own oldskool, I love the sound so much ;D

Any other producers know how I can do that or can you point me to some good sample packs?

It's all about sampling imo. IIRC that Acen tune samples everything from the Rolling Stones to a James Bond soundtrack, with some Jim Morrison and a load of hip hop records thrown in for good measure.

The thing with hardcore back then, was that way the tracks were made was with incredibly limited software. So the synths were samples from hardware synths, lots of people used guitar effect pedals instead of vst's etc etc...

Also, quite a lot of producers would sample large sections of tracks, instead of small vocal cut like now days. Lots of track were very limited presses, so lots of people didn't bother clearing copyright usage either.

This track on Moving Shadow caused problems with the unlicensed Seal "music takes you round..." sample at the begining Big Grin

I was lucky enough to have bought that when it first came out.

Dred Bass sampled a Seal tune as well.

Another classic tune that sampled Seal.

Big Grin Never knew about the Dred Bass sample. I hope they paid for that one. I got threats of copyright infringement a year or 2 ago for putting some old Moving $hadow stuff up on Youtube Huh

Selig, do you post in Propellerheads forum?

You got a warning off moving shadow? That's a bit rich isn't it?

I don't post on the propellerheads forum. I use reaper, when I can be bothered to make a track.

Yeah mate, I had some old Omni Trio rips I did from my own vinyls. Funnily enough, some are back up by some others now.

I have some old No U Turn stuff up among others. I contacted Nico from No U Turn and he was really pleased people were putting his stuff up. Actually heard from an old No U Turn artist who I used to know years back asking for a copy of one of his own tracks... The tune is long out of of press and he had lost the dat tapes (actually, he's had a few bit on Moving $hadow) Big Grin

I know a couple of people who had there sites removed because of M$. I contacted them about getting permission and they said they were doing there own uploads.

Here it is. As you can see, not many uploads at all. Bit strange from a label who ripped loads of music off, but then again, I do understand the business side of it Big Grin
