Please check out my new track 'Calm Winds' and post your comments here!

Put together something for the summer. This is just a preview but could be a final version if I can't find anything else to add or maybe once I get some feedback Smile

Enjoy!!

Notes:

- Repetitive sounds (need to figure out variations)
- need to add more bass to the entire track (sub bass)
- tweak and tune up fills, sweeps and risers
- fix levels on a few instruments to give it more smoothness
- check levels to see if anything is peaking too high

those beats r soo crisp!
Tho this track is a bit repetitive with moments it totally works.
You managed 2 capture the desired mood perfectly.
the melody after the second drop is just precious imo.

Hey Jan.. typing as I'm listening..

Lovely intro.. love the pads and strings
Beat is crisp.. like the filtering in @ 0:40

Kick is solid.
Bassline is SWEEEEEEEET! Rollin!
Its funny how the pads dont get annoying even tho they repeat so much Smile

Good job!!

Nice change up at 2:00- timed just right
Could maybe do with a nice echo sax or cellos towards the last phrase just to flesh it out fully..
Really enjoyed this man! Ableton is obviously a smart move for you!

Nice vibe. Like the way I can hear lots of different instruments coming in and then going out. Love the pad and fx sounds. Really like thr drum fill before the second drop. Good job man.

@Gripz: Hey man thanks for the kind words! I do feel it's a bit repetitive as well. I'll take your advice and see if I can come up with something to make the melody stand out more Big Grin

@Impact: Thanks so much Brad! I really put my all into this track over the weekend and was very inspired. Being with my family helped with the overall mood that I was going for. Ableton sure has had an impact with my tunes Smile

@DJ Pace: I appreciate the kind words man. I'm glad you enjoyed the tune Big Grin

That fill before the 2nd drop got to me too haha. I love that part. Also, I may do some tweaking on that fill to make it sound a bit more out there before it drops back but not sure. It sounds good now but i feel its missing a small detail.

Somehow I don't hear a lot of (sub)bass in the mix. If you could fix that the tune would be awesome.

I'm working on a variation for the drums so that it's not so repetitive.

@BattleDrone: Yeah I kinda feel that the sub bass is a bit low. I'll have to boost or add a 2nd bass layer to fix that. I'm not sure if it's my headphones or the tune itself but at times I hear a distorted pitch sometimes when the bass and kick merge. Might just be the headphones since they are cheap haha.

Hello mate,

Since youve already pointed out a few elements which your still working on I wont give a full review just my thoughts on the vibe and overall feel of the tune.

3:18 Very nice sounding track you ve definately acheived a nice summery style and some interesting melodys too. The main melody needs some variation as it plays the whole way through without changing, but you already know this Smile

A great track, needs a little more work in some areas but on the whole sounds very promising. Big ups mate

Respects man! Thanks for giving me some tips. You're right hehe that main melody is repetitive and does need some variation. I'm still trying to find something for it.

Yeah i'm looking into doing a clean up this Friday before I re-release it.

Nice intro, drumz are nice and sharp, the mixdown is good as well. Like the Fx sounds. Nice drop, not boring and already 2 min into it. Can use some subs in there. Nice work.
