What VSTs do you lot use for making bass if using reason? (or do you use reason's synths)

I'm not really sure what i'm doing with thor for example, so was gonna try out a VST instead and sample the sounds??? Confused

I've read a lot of positive things about Thor, it appears that it is as good as Massive but without the crashes and the fuckups from NI.
However, I never used it. But I'm pretty sure there are enough good Youtube tutorials for Reason (and Thor for that matter) out there.

@ impact

Yeah I know that I should have been more clear. I would rewire reason with logic.

Sytrus and 3xOsc - they do the job perfectly. Sytrus is one of the most powerful synths I've had in my hands (mouse?). A bit hard to start with, but great capabilities!

The answer is simple - bass synth is bass synth. what kind of bass synth you like to make it depends on your taste. The formula for bass synth is 'sound with low frequencies bredominant between 50-300Hz'. Bellow 50Hz is sub-bass synth.

P.S. almost forgot... whichever synthesizer you use (even you can make one in synthmaker or synthedit) with only two oscilators in combination or only one (sines, squares, sawtooths and a bunch of other combined summations). You have to start and experiment instead of thinking what to do no offence. Without experimenting, you will never have the chance to learn.

ok thanks peeps

Think Ill have a go at Logic's synth

so next question is how to rewire reason and logic...

I've had them running together before but now when I try, Reason doesn't start in slave mode. (I am opening it after Logic)

Please help...

Thor is just as good as massive if you know how to use it. for bass though i usually use malstrom with 2 sine waves i think -2 octave.
