Please check out my new track 'Mercury' and post your comments here!

PLEASE IGNORE THE FIRST 16 BARS

Hey guys, Pace here. Woke up late, had a McDonalds (with a massive coke - too much caffeine for me) and spent four hours from scratch on this idea. I think it's my best idea yet and I've pulled a muscle in my back from shocking out to it in the studio!

The idea is fresh and raw (like a little green tomato) and any feedback / criticism / ideas(?) would be greatly appreciated...

Peace

Cool start mate, i like that high pitch sound on the intro. U need fx like whistle or something like that when the bass start Smile .
Its good tune, also maybe you should add more bass on the main reese ( if im not wrong )
Big ups!

It's fresh indeed.
The percussion is a little silent.
I was expecting the worst when that high synth came in in the intro but the bass is good.
Needs more variation though (filter orgy on the bass, different bass stabs, variations in drums).

ez pace.

right first 16 ignored Wink
(because this is WIP Im not going to comment on the engineering- only the arrangement..)

Liking the dirtiness of the low synth.. the drums seems a bit dull perhaps?
low synth progression is good.
Has definite mileage for sure.. not so sure on the hi synth stabs.. seems a bit out of place..

I think with some work this could be a phace style tearout! Smile

Safe for reviews guys.

Glodaragz - Thanks mate.

Battle - Yeah man, you're right - made a list last night of all the things I'm gonna change today Wink

Impact - What do mean dull? Do you mean no character? Compressed too much? I HAVE compressed them slightly together to get a more 'solid' sound. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that Hi-synth is going...

Big up mate!

Tryptech - Thanks for review man.

dull as in - boring sounding.. kick is weak, snare has no character hats are boring.
but I appreciate that maybe you've not gotten around to EQing the drums yet..

I would lose the compression at this stage.. its not doing any favours imo..
EQ, process, then compress on a bus as a final 'gel'.. thats the order I tend to do drums in to retain control of their sound.
plus- the pattern is currently a bit repetitive.. with little variation I can hear.. but again- sure you'll sort that.

I love the bass Smile But it's a bit too much preset using. Native Instruments Massive, "Draht Bass". The overall melody is not that creative, but the drum loop and the mixing of the drums is really nice Smile you should defenetly keep that loop, ad some more variations, some tension building and maybe a breakdown with pads or something like that Smile Keep up the good work!

that bass sound is definately something to carry on it reminds me of a track called space time by delta heavey which is an amazing track. i think if u add some more splashy sounding high hats/ rides its it would give the track a different dimension its got the shuffle in there nice could do with a touch of air tho if u know what i mean good start here finish it !

Thanks for reviews guys.

Virtual_Riot: I made the sound in NI Massive, but it's definitely not a preset. Thanks anyway.

Pusha: See what you mean about the 'air' elements of the track. Will definitely give your ideas a try. Safe.

Writing while listening....intro seems to have a lil too much hi...but holy shit that bass is nasty! I dunno what it is...but that bass needs to have a nastier break...it seems waaay too light and doesnt do the bass justice. Also maybe some edits and other basses to tie it all together. I like what you got so far
