I've updated the server to the latest version of PHP4. The forum and the rest of the site are running on PHP, so there could be some problems, but I don't expect any 
At the end of the summer I will upgrade to PHP5, that will be a bit more adventurous probably

Yeah, I'd wait till there is a Burning Board version that works with PHP5...

Full rewrite of my forum prolly coming up for PHP5 - but no targets set for that-one (as in: don't expect it any time soon

I'm not even sure if my own code works with PHP5
Some pages such as the producers page were made ages ago when the site was just started and they are really messy, I can hardly figure out what's going on there.
Hmm and definitely if WBB is known to be incompatible I can better wait... I was going to wait anyway until there were a couple of updates to 5.0 to make sure it's stable...

Get DreamWeaver. It's a very powerfull package which has a WYSIWYG interface, but it also lets you edit the code and shit, so you can start out with the WYSIWYG and study the code that way. Thats how I leaned it. PHP it a bit harder, you'd better buy a book on it.
www.w3schools.com has some nice tutorials too...

PHP5 isn't completely backwards compatible I noticed, so you could get very strange behavior
