Safe Impact, Pace here. Like the tune. Also your choice of sounds (very 70's ish strings, guitars, etc). This tune has such a good vibe to it. I like the switch at around 2:02. Didn't want the tune to end at 2:57! It needs something else in the mix, maybe an old-skool reece bass underneath the mid-range bass. Obviously depends on your vision of the tune. Good work though man. You sending this one off, or just testing the waters?

To me it seems like this thing is a really good drum&background track... I mean you should add some bass stuff on there. Think Commix, just a tad naughty and a tad dark.
Did you sample from some 70's porn movie?

The bass should be more present, even in the SC version it should be stronger.

Clearly a heavily sampled intro? but still nice mate, very smooth selection. This is a lovely tune, but does remind me of some hip hop/down tempo tunes i have a love/hate relationship with, seems very heavily sampled, as your track description does not specify how track was created, I think "fuck I love this groove, but how much did the producer create himself?"
I mean no disrespect mate, just that there is so many producers bustin it to do all music themselves, and I have little idea (obviously the beats. but are they loops? or one shots?) on how you created this tune.
big up though, there is a nice vibe there.

sure; I chose a group of samples to be my 'core'.
I then played my own bass and processed all the above along with the drum break until it sounded good to me and matched the 'vision' in my head
Yes- it's 85% sample based- but- that's not a bad thing if it results in a song sounding ok...
Of the samples I used; there are a variety of 2bar loops, one shots, stings, sweeps and 1bar loops.
I think sometimes some producers go too far into the 'i must make everything myself or it has no worth' aspect.. unless you have natural (or learned) talent on a pro scale it can sometimes do more harm than good.
I'm no natural musician, I've had to do it all the hard way. I can't play piano.. I dont know scales (even looking at them on the net means nothing if you can't interpret that into the midi). But- I do know what a catchy tune sounds like 
If I need to use samples to attain the vision- so be it. I'm not pretentious/proud.
The better I get the more I experiment playing my own stuff- but if it doesnt make the grade then it gets cut.
No disrespect taken

i think there's nothing wrong in whichever way you choose to write a drum and bass tune... as long as you put your stamp/style on it... ive made tracks in the past based on cut up samples... and ive also made tunes from scratch... but most if not all producers tend to merge the two.

Love the intro, it's an awesome sample, you're gonna be huge man, love this liquid vibe, love how the hihat enters. Think the drums are to wild for the sample buts thats my opinion, could do with some more airy drums, further nice drumline, bass could be deeper.
