This is kind of a vague question, as most softwares can make DnB just as well as the next. I'm using the FL8 demo right now, and either I lack experience in the field of music and/or don't have much equipment (I've got sound files, that's about it... Tongue ), or FL8 doesn't have what I need. I'm really assuming it's the former, but who knows?

Anyway, what would YOU recommend, and/or what do YOU use?

Edit: Left something out. Added.

FL has all you need, I always work with FL, a lot of others on here do too.
Keep at it... Rome wasn't build in a day.
Watch a lot of youtube tutorials on beat slicing, sound programming,... in FL Studio.

I recommend Reason 4 and FL Studio (latest). I prefer to Rewire Reason into FL Studio because I like using FL's step sequencing features and piano roll. Reason has great stock sounds and is usually a tad more stable than FL Studio 9 but I work more with FL because of the ease of use. If you do not like the stock sounds in FL just download some sounds (Google keywords: DNB drumkits, soundkits, loops etc.,) and try some VST's out. Some of my favorite VST's come from Native Instruments, Re-FX and various free ones. Good energy to you and your productions.

Yes, indeed. And it's a resource hog. And it's expensive.

I use FL10. Smile

I use 2 monitors though - one for the main FL window, and one for the playlist. Looks oh so nice, and is easy to work with!

When I started out I had a hard time believing it was the idiot behind the DAW that mattered, not the DAW itself. Well, no more. Smile

no no marc !!! Pro's use RAVE eJAY & autotune !!!

As marc said it's not about the DAW at all.

I use Reason mostly as it makes more sense to me because I like hardware & understand it better than most other daws which are just a load of floating windows to me.

I also use Presonus Studio One on odd occasion although mostly when finished track in reason & want to chop up sections / add glitch fx or check levels with spectrum analayzer.

All down to what YOU feel most comfortable with.
Try a few daws & see how it goes, youtube & forums are your friend when comes to sound design & production tips Wink

It's about you and what works for you.
Don't blame the software if your tune sucks.
Don't praise the software if your favorite producer's tune rocks.
