Is there a quick way to connect an effect to one sample in your Redrum?
The way that I do it is create the effect, connect it to one output of the Redrum and a new input at the mixer.
Think this gets a bit complicated after a while.
Can't find it in the manuel.
Thanks!

hmm dunno too, what u could do is add an extra mixer just for your redrum channels, route the channel outs of the redrum through the effects, then to the second mixer, and the output of the second mixer to a channel of the main mixer.

If u need the effect on only one or 2 samples, it's probably also possible to use the sen outputs.

You can also connect your 2nd mixer via the 'Chaining Master'-slots to the first mixer. This way you don't have to use another slot in your main-mixer.
But the way djfreemc stated it is indeed the most logical, user-friendly and easy way to connect all your fx, drumchannels and mixers.

Amen.

what u do is as said before make a new mixer for ur redrum channels.
press TAB, then connect each redrum channel to a channel on the new mixer by right-clicking and choosing from the list.
That way if u want your snare to have an effect completely apart from the rest, you can choose to create a Scream4 before u route that channel to the mixer.

then with regular compressing and equalizing you could hook up to the mixers FX sends and then control em on top of ur mixer channels

draw it on a paper before u start Big Grin avoid all confusion

you could also use the first two send fx on your mixer directly in ReDrum, just below the name of the sample although it's not my way of working...

Using fx sends (aka aux sends) works but it's not the preferred way if you only want to put the effect on one sound only. Fx sends are shared among all tracks, so they are ideal for using stuff like reverb and delays which are used on many tracks simultaneously. Typically the number of fx sends is limited (between 4-24 on analog mixers, but some software is much more flexible).

I haven't worked with reason yet, but doesn't it have insert points? An insert point is specifically made for plugging in a single effect on a channel. It's mostly used for dynamic effects such as compressors / gates / expanders, but you can ofcourse also plug in any other effect in it, just make sure the wet / dry control is not put at 100% wet, or you can get some really weird sounds Tongue

Not worked with Reason yet? Bet you're gonna find it a handy neat little piece of software...
I don't think Reason has insert points per channel. So what's the difference then between insert points and adding an effect (whether it's dynamic or not) the usual way?
On the otherhand, most of the modules and devices in Reason have multiple and separate outputs, you can wire all the cables the way you want, it's so virtual it gets close to reality...
