i got teary-eyed. lol. its the chord progression / melody that taps into a subdued vibe. Still very soulful tho. Nice liquid vibe & vocal sample. I am not in love with your ride cymbal, but its a matter of taste i think. i'd pref it a little deeper in the mix layered w/ the more dynamic hats. This is a good start. Nice sub, good melody. obviously needs more edits / fills. Would like to hear the finished product.

Try getting some more definition to the kick drum by some eqing and maybe by layering a snappy kick on top. Also, it needs some more bass, I can barely hear it at all
PS. Can you tell me where that vocal sample is from? I remember hearing it in another tune but I just can't remember what the tune was, argh, annoying!
Like this a lot. It’s ultra chill, nice chords, laid back drums and the vocal sample fits ace.
Your kick drum hits fairly low and doesn’t punch enough. Some subtle eq and compression should solve this. Make it slightly rougher sounding without overdoing it so you have a little contrast to the smooth sub bass. You even might want to try a transient designer on the kick (giving the attack some attention and at the same time less sustain). Or try layering as Puzzle suggested.
Add some slight delay to the vocal if you want. The mix is not exactly dry sounding but a bit verb on certain elements would be worth a try.
That one fx swoosh in the background sounds awesome!
When finishing the tune think about variation and progression. I like the minimal appeal of your composition and wouldn’t screw it up adding tons of more elements. What I would do is layer your main chords with a sound that is still smooth but pretty present in the mids and upper-mids. Having this sound evolving and building up slowly (via lowpass filter or else) would be enough variation I guess. It should follow your cords but the programming can/should differ to spice things up even more.
This is good for intro of this tune.Maybe shorter, than to make some change, with more melodies, should be still sad tune, and i like it
Also to add more hats on ur drums.For intro is good, the vocal is good too.But still need lot of work
