Please check out my new track 'Flagellation' and post your comments here!
Dark Dubstep tune that I plan on including in my first release. Please any and all reviews/tips/mix faults would be greatly appreciated. I would consider this piece around 85% complete as it still needs some more detailed mixing and edits.
sick drops. esp ~1:45 nice dark vibes. nice break. feelin the snare. Not a big fan of that metallic sounding layered kick, but maybe just a matter of taste. Bass is just nasty. love the automation. good drum fills/edits. Nice use of fx. overall, defo some dark dubstep. Might be a bit lengthy.
The drop is big, and very nicely built! The bass has so many layers to it, which seem to all work very well together. Good idea for getting into the breakdown. The track wouldn't sound out of place in a film, very dark track. Very tight production.
Tuff.
Yo
This is a massive tune brother! Realy liking this.
The intro is cool. The sounds all fit together. The atmosphere is awesome, I'm listening with headset and I can say this tune is all over the place. From left to right, front to back you realy panned it dude! Nice production! The snare just hits like a motherf... and the drums have some nice changes to them. The synth sounds awesome and has a nice melody. The bass doesn't sound to heavy and not to soft, it doesn't take away the power of the kick. The eq-ing is good.
You have some serious skills man and I hope to hear more from u. Only bad thing I can say is that the tune deserves a better outro! It stops a lil' to sudden.
Flagellation or flogging is the act of methodically beating or whipping (Latin flagellum, "whip") the human body. Specialised implements for it include rods, switches, the cat o' nine tails and the sjambok...so the metalic sounds are right at home in this disgusting dubstep tune, this track really reminds me of some machinecode(current value and dean roddell) shizzle check this c.v. track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rliAYxoncAI&feature=related and this machine code track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_01yxJx32I
pretty great compliments! all good things on this end homie peace
__ Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time.
Bass is very nasty! Lots of variation too. I'm not a big fan of the snare it's a bit too low, but that's personal perference I think
(It fits in the track tough). I dont have much more to add. Maybe work some more on the mix to give it that final touch. Good work.
Mostly superb tones. Maybe the ride cymbals could use a little more variation - as in "make some radical trigger-and-cut patterns" or something to make them a touch less repetitive. Is the ringing metallic snare a little plain sounding, or is it just me?
I think some vocals could really liven it up setting the tune on fire.
