Hey, I'm new to Reason, and I want to put samples i dld in Reason, but I can't like, find them in Reason, because they're wav files. What should i do to get them into Reason?
you need a program called propellar head recycle which creates wavs into rex files to put in rex sampler or nnxt or nn19 i have heard you can load wavs into nnxt but i have never bothered to try hope this helps
I know its sounds like a simple response but read the help manual with reason.
its full of helpful info that'll help you get started using everything in the program.
Also check out youtube tutorials, there are literally 100's of them.
Music making is much like all things in life, you get out what you put in and if your willing to put in the effort you will be greatly rewarded.
Create a new NNXT and then initialize the patch by right clicking on the device. Then open the programmer by clicking the little arrow in the left bottom corner and then right click in the left column of the blue area and select,"browse sample" and then find the sample and open it. Then select what keys will trigger the sample by moving that bar in the right column of the blue area. Open your sequencer and select the MIDI note of the NNXT that you selected. This way you can open multiple samples with the same NNXT. Hope this helps!
I load wav samples in NNXT. You can trigger them in there original sound by hitting C1 (usually). I am still trying to figure out how to break a sample down and be able to set it to trigger different portions. Like an earlier poster said, youtube has LOTS of reason videos. This is a great forum, I appreciate the knowledge.
A couple of other great tools for mac you might want to consider (if you use Mac) is audacity and sound flower. You can find samples and use soundflower to route them through Audacity. then you can save the sample as a wave and open it up in NNXT and mess with it. just my .02 cents worth.
