It's pretty simple. Without knowing what he's saying, I can tell you that he routed the plug into one channel, and in turn, routed that channel into 3 different channels and eq'd/filtered a certain spectrum to give more control and add effects of his choice to each section he split off (usually for extra modulation flavor and grit sound). Importantly, the low/sub section is put into mono as the above sections are put into stereo. Pretty basic really bruv.
So it's like this (not always, you can always split them up more so and add more plugs to suite your needs, this is just the basic idea, and also what's depicted in dude's video I'm sure)
low/sub-(mono)-(lp filter/eq'd lows)-(maybe some compression)
mid-(stereo)-(bp filter/eq'd mids)-(various effects to add modulation)-(sat/dist)-(etc)
high-(stereo)-(hp filter/eq'd highs)-(various effects to add modulation)-(sat/dist)-(etc)
Like I said, pretty basic, so no need to flame if your chain is different, as I'm sure it is for everyone who's been doing this for some time (trying to make this short and sweet, so bare with me). Could always add Notch filtering, saturate/distort before and/or after and/or in between, Reverb... whatever sounds good.
As far as the notes, he just did some simple sustain with slides here and there. Pretty easy to make.
