anyone know anything about sampling regulations.....ive heard theres a law that states after a certain amount of time you can sample music without having to clear it, maybe its 40 years after its released or something??? anyone know? ta

No, it can be freely played by the same notes and then sampled. 70 years of the death of the author of the arrangement/recording also applies, and sampling Beethoven, I doubt it will be from a 300 year old recording Big Grin

gregory coleman hadnt passed away when his solo was first sampled, and the time after that, and the time after that etc etc hehe Drummer

theres loads of books and stuff on the internet about it. ive got a couple of good books with a lot of info on it, but tbh i skimmed through it pretty quickly
