Please check out my new track 'Sargasso.' and post your comments here!
ez dotbe'rs.
just a lil bit of dnb for yah'll
all the sounds are made by myself using ableton onboard synths, apart from the terrorist bass which i used a vst for.
thanks to ketz for a lil waveform advice
the sounds arnt exactly what i was after, so we'll call them all happy mistakes for now.
it was fun doing this one,
even tho its a lot more hard work,
if like me you have no idea of what synth sound to start with to get to the end product.
im my case this felt like fumbling in the dark untill someone lite a candle down the end of the hall way, then halfway down the hallway someone blew out the canlde and left me fumbling in the dark again,,,synthisis yeah i need to learn a shiit load more about this.
peace n chips
mej

wow man, huge sound you got here. i definitely know where you're coming from as far as synthesis goes. been dabbling in doing my own sounds from scratch here more frequently myself. a lot more than i used to and once really diggin' in, it can be a bit overwhelming, especially like when you try and figure out where the hell to start first. so i know that feeling.
but the synths are great. and for being a happy mistake, turned out pretty damn nice. i can definitely tell a big part of the work here was aimed towards synthesis as it seems to emphasize them more than anything. not in a bad way, i just think maybe you could have worked in some more sound fx and breakups as well. not a biggie though.
the sub bass is flowin' nice. definitely can tell you got them notes going down pretty low. feels good. good length on the track too. didn't leave me feeling like i wish it would end.
seems in the end your hard work paid off. just some minor things i would have personally done just as far the changeups go, but it's your tune and good in it's own right. good clean sound, doesn't sound to me like anything's fighting for space in the spectrum, even at higher volumes. enjoyable listen.

synth sounds sound ok maybe a bit of variation in the lfo rate to give the tune a bit more movement all the sounds together seem to suit each other nicely. Like the bass sound that comes in round 2:02 i reckon it should b in the tune from the drop right through make it feel more grunty. In the break down the drums sound a bit sloppy (just after first kick sounds like there's another beat outta time)
Nice work

try using synths that you know a little about m8
then hit youtube n see how they build pads, strings, fx,
dont be put off if some one is using xyz synth,
your 1st few pads in synth wont go exactly how youd like it to,
but dont be discouraged save tht test project and start again.
(btw saragasso got played on radio last night)<----
