I've been looking into industrial DnB lately, taking a lot of inspiration from the free-to-download EP "Those Who Know the Truth" by Zardonic, and trying to get that loud (and I mean LOUD), fast and pounding sound going in FL.
Listen to this to understand what kind of overall sound I'm looking for:

It might not sound as loud on youtube, but you can google Zardonic to find the free download (legally available!).
How the hell does he get such a deep, yet loud and fast sound without drowning any other sounds? Is it the subs, the kickdrum samples?
Whenever I try to go for something like that, my sounds end up drown eachother out, no matter how much EQ and compression I put on it.

So basically just really, really good mastering?
I can do a bit but I don't have a 10.000€ studio setup unfortunately.
I can hear the bassdrum samples used are pretty unconventional, more like pounding club bassdrums.
But I like it, and I'd like to find that sound too.

i Think what battledrone meant was that it's crappy mastering^^.
And u realy don't need a 10K€ setup 2 get this sound.
There r several technices and vst's out there that will help u achieve this goal.

yeah loud doesnt always mean good
You want a decent dynamic range a lot of the time which comes from a decent mixdown.
Mastering is the icing on the cake.
As for which VSTs... each person tends to have their own set of tools they know/like
For me; my mixdowns have NOTHING on the master.
I just make sure that the tune peaks at -3db and no more..
I then bounce a master from that and use various tools/methods to get back up to 0db..
I did have a very interesting discussion with one of Bukems signed artists about how they mix their stuff down for a punchy deep mix straight out of fruity- no mastering!
All I'll say is: Investigate RMS metering..
