Please check out my new track 'Jah & Man (chillstep Vip)' and post your comments here!
Kinda stepping out of the comfort zone on this one. Still minimal, but no jungle this time
Instead, a chill dubstep tune. I'm also stepping away from the typical ripping wobbling dubstep bass so if that's your thing then you might not like this tune.
Oh, also, its labeled a Variation in Production b/c I have an atmospheric jungle version of this tune as well. You can find that here: http://soundcloud.com/dannylo/jah-and-man
Be curious to know which one folks like better... LOL

this is nice, i think the sub bass is too loud, could come down a little. fx are nice mate there is a great dubby vibe, just a little work on the levels in the mix, q wise, sounds pretty good. Maybe inrtroduce some of your vox samples in the intro to spice it a bit. i enjoy this track.

thanks guys. @BD I figured people would like this version better. I'm kinda torn b/t the two, personally. Also, I hear that at 1:56 too... think i need to decay the delay on that vocal sample a bit quicker b/c it sounds funny when it has too much space in the mix.

this is chilled - i like the way there is a constant flow and the samples n sounds fade in and back out again - good sense of depth
at 3:04 it sounds like the vocal guy is like takin a breath and hesitating before the the sample - i love that it kinda tricks your senses
the chant sample fits real nice
i've heard similar tunes on chillout cd compilations
- this is better!!

chillstep this certainly is! Nice laid back feel with a big sub that is essential in tracks like this.
The strings and keys make some great harmonies over the top - it's always refreshing hearing dubstep tracks like this without the same old wobbles etc like you say! Will be checking out the jungle version!
