Please check out my new track 'Generic' and post your comments here!

I've been using this track as a chance to make as many sounds as possible on my own from scratch using massive. For example the sweeping synth in the intro and most of the other sounds expect the orchestral stuff. Trying to build up a broad base of sound types that I can make rather than always relying on samples. Particularly looking for advice on sound design. Enjoy!

LOL thanks man. It takes a shit load of practice to get some of those sounds. Thats sweeping synth took me around 5 hours to get right and i'm still not really stoked with it. Look up sound design tutorials for massive on you tube, learnt a lot that way.

Sounds are good. Sweeping sound is grooving. I like the melodic structure here. Bass tone is too loud and is muddying the mix as a whole. Drums need more punch especially the snare and kick. High end is fine but there isn't much punch there. EQ that bass! Since its such a short sample there really isnt much more I can say. Sound design wise the sounds themselves are good, more movement is always a good thing but that comes with automation. With Massive or really any synth the possibilities are endless and the more you mess around with the waveforms and filters and even modular routing the more your going to be able to shape your sounds the way you hear them in your head. Sounds good so far so keep working on this bad boy!

love the intro synths, both of them. Very nice.
Drums start a little limp, however that B line is MASSIVE! Big Grin

I'd layer another break (or two) in and eq the crap out of it to give the breaks some real bite to counter that uber bass.

Short and sweet- shows great potential! Smile

When the sub comes in the drums are pushed to the back... you need to work on your compression and sidechaining to avoid that.
Nice sounds though!
