not sure if i should upload this to a dnb site,
but dubstep is uploaded here so future garage should also be included to the sub genres.
this is my 2nd attempt at a future garage track.
(dont ask me about the 1st attempt i wasnt happy with it at all).
deep, dark(ish) little number,
im pretty happy with the beat
just having a few issues getting the tell tale garage shuffle to sound right,
and that's why this sounds a bit minimal,
but then i quite like the minimal thing.

Reminds me a lot of Funeral, an artist I really like. Love the dark droning pads and the dirty sound. The rhythm is a bit too broken for my taste (but I said it <--- TASTE).
The first pad that comes in is absolute mono which doesn't sound all that good to me. But then again, in this style this could be your target.
More Future Garage please...

the beat would make a lot more sense if i could nail the garage percussion m8.
(still struggling with it)
(cant seem to get the percussion to shuck n suck like i want).
i did mono the 1st pad, as i wanted something dead center,
(i can open up the stereo field if its off putting).

Yeah I think the beat is too broken too. Seems as if you've tried putting the characterizing elements (kick / snare) out of the 4/4 pattern. I think - from the future garage i've heard so far - that the kick often comes at the 4th beat of the first measure and in the second measure NOT on the first beat. And so it naturally drifts back towards the original position in the first measure.
Can't really get to making what it would be for future garage, but the concept is this:
||K---|S---|--K-|K---||S---|--K-|K---|S---||--K-|K---|S---|--K-||
Basically a 3/4 pattern that, if you "zoom out" gives a 3/3 pattern.
(I notice my terminology might not be entirely correct :p)
But I think that's how future garage beats are made, by floating out of the 4/4 pattern.
Besides the beat, I think the track is really good. Nice atmospheric pad (I listened on laptop speakers so stereofield couldn't bother me), the vocals are nice too, basically I like everything except the beat; maybe if future garage doesn't work in the end, make it a loungy dnb track :-)

I cant really get my head around that beat, but then maybe im not supposed to, even thought to me the drums are a little foreign,I really like it, it has some dark ethereal feel to it that certainly would not be out of place at about dawn after a massive night, cranked up really loud. I like all the elements, somehow it all works for me, so big up, nice track!

if i can nail the percussive side of it, then the beat would really hang together
and make a lot more sence.
but as it stands with out the percussive elements(and something that ive admitted im struggling with),
the beat duz sound foreign,
espesh if youve been working with over quantized amens for a while.
but listen to it a few times and it duz "groove" but it duznt "roll"
and its the percussive roll thats letting it down.

u done a lot to make the most of minimalist --
nice swirling atmosphere
the drums (the ryhthm is ace) dont make it as dnb tune, but that doesnt matter because it captures the essence of dnb and dub - the atmosphere.
grumbling bass sounds fierce
tasty vocals - the vocal variations u done stop it sounding repetitive
my type of tune for real - understated menace
very soundtracky kind of "the equalizer" theme territory. this tune is the direction i'd like go in when i done my .be appenticeship! (years away)
i cant suggest any improvements - a rewinder!

Like the filtering in the intro, this is DARK. Vocal fx are good. Kick can use a sharp layer and the snare can do with a little compression or another layer to make it a little sharper. Def a good listen.
