from what i can make out
(just talking off the top of my head here,shoot me down i aint too fussed)
dubstep has the garage swing beat (true box ticked), but with wobbles,
deeper dubstep with out the wobbles is phuture garage.
so to summarize-
wobbles is dubstep and wobble-less is phuture garage.

I'd rather categorize it under phuture wobblestep with deep minimal techy drumstep influences. Not to be confused by any other styles though because that would make you look like a bloody idiot.

I guess its just what the producer wants to call it, I mean there are tons of dubstep producers which tunes sound more like jazz with a sub bass underneath than dirtha liquid poo outa your speaker.
takes skream - summer dreams, it's fking jazz but still its awesome lol.
everything at 140 bpm with a subbass, can be called Dubstep I guess.
