Please check out my new track 'Never Far Away' and post your comments here!
So this is my actual kind of production, no dubstep but Liquid Funk :-)
Melodic, has piano, guitar and acoustic drums in it. Hope you like it, I feel quite good about this track and think I'll be rearranging some things perhaps after the exams.
I had some 'complaints' about the snare, so I will check to change this for the better, but also, after the exams
Very event full again, Some lvls seem a little loud on my set up like the lead gutiar'e melod. The style is not really my thing but sounds pretty good all the same. The snares not bad but does stand out a little in parts imo. Would def. sound alot better with a good ol' mix down
nice vibes mate. i like the snare alot its big sounding an makes it sound exciting in my opinion. cheesy guitar solo!! lol thats not really to my taste but i guess its a bit different to alot of the stuff you hear. the track kinda heads off in that direction which im not really into but i see what your doin
This is not really my thing at all, it's really different, which i suppose can be a good thing sometimes. Having said that, it is well produced and layed out well, it does seem a bit busy to me at times, which is why it doenn't appeal to me, and the samples are not my tatse, but all in all, good effort for sure.
Fella there is a lot of depth to this tune and I can hear that lots of effort has gone into the programming already. Nice one for that. I enjoyed the listen although to me this is a driving in car tune rather than a dancefloor shaker (personal taste). I would suggest shortening the whole track for the final edit as it is a bit long. The final mixdown will need some attention to separate the layers and boost the punch. So good work because this style is not my bag but I stayed interested enough to listen to the whole track. All the effort so far makes this project worth finishing imo nice one!
The first melody sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I can't seem to place it.
The guitar is a real nice touch, but on my carspeakers it pretty much hurts.
Maybe add an EQ notch somewhere between 4 and 5khZ (?) to bring down the edge a little, so it sounds less intrusive.
Can't see what's wrong with the snare, to be honest.
It sounds a little wide, but it does give you that extra flow in the beat.
Allround, a good tune, nice work!
Mixdown sounds a bit wrong. Extreme amounts of reverb make everything blend into everything else.
Tune has massive potential if you would put this into the hands of a mixing and mastering engineer. You shouldn't focus on mixdown and mastering too much, that can be done by others.
Pitchdown FX in the 3:20' range doesn't work for me. Guitars are perfect!
Kick can barely be heard, snare is a bit floppy.
A lot of the instruments sound like a rockband rather than DnB. It would be a nice touch if you would pick less middle-of-the-road sounds or atleast tweak the presets to be more original.

I assure you, I never use presets :o
Maybe that's why they sound simple though :p
I can see what you mean with middle-of-the-road sounds, but I don't really have an idea towards which sounds I'd work instead..
Definitely needs some mixing & mastering, I've been using a lot of different sounds haven't I :-/ Is going to be a hell of a job, in fact..
@3rr0rc0d3: I wonder what the first melody reminds you of :-) I can assure you it comes purely from musical intercourse between me & FL :p
And I'll keep in mind notching some hurtful frequencies on that guitar
@WAW WAW: Yeah I far from focus on dancefloor tunes, there's lots of liquid you can take to the clubs, but there's a wide range of them that don't belong there at all. With some remixing maybe this one could be taken there though, no idea. Not something for very soon (exams)
and thank you very much for the comments I have a washlist of things to do it seems xD
