Please check out my new track 'The Horror' and post your comments here!
alright people well this is my attemp at steppin out side the box and avin a go at a bit or neuro dark stuff i had a lot of fun makin this track neuro bass's r hard to make twist up without sound rubbish i kept the bass pretty mellow(ish)the drums are a creeper in the intro as u will hear anyway good or bad let me know(whether i should never try neuro again lol) also ideas how i could do things better would be much appreciated as i would like to finish this thanx
love the sample at the beginnin is it from apocolypse now? think i used a bit of it in my track 'gas huffer'. lovin this track, sounds slick! drums sound powerful an good ideas. like the change at 2.17, nothin really struck my mind in the way of improvements tbh, nice work. will it be mastered?
no that sample isn't from apocolypse mate. its the spoken word of an author i prob will master this if it gets a fairly good rating if not i might jus stick it in the files to finish on a rainy day lol like ur new track by the way trouser snake drums r nice and weighty
ha i just said the same to you in my thread, cheers. ah right, the sample i used in an old track is a voice saying 'the horror', which i think came from apocalypse now nevermind
not gonna lie, i don't know shit about the neuro darkness. That said, this is pretty wicked stuff mate. Glad to see you steppin outside the box, although your regular stuff is money too. Bass is nicely done here, not over the top. nice drum edits & use of fx. Again, i don't know shit about neuro, but this kinda reminds me of some Dom & Rolland or maybe even some Dieselboy... that might be way off, but its what it reminds me of.
I can get down with it. big up!
Really digging the drums in this one, and the bass also does what it's supposed to do.
Not your typical style, but you seem to pull it off quite nicely.
ez m8,
nice job on the beats.
liking the bass work
.
but i feel a hi pass, pitch bent reece would act really well as a counter point,
sorta like womp wompwomp, "neighhh"
(hard to type how im hearing this sound,
but think of how a horse whinnys "naAAAAhh")<---(you guys are gonna think im a proper nutter now lol)
1st attempt at neuro, well its a damm sight better than my efforts m8.
__ m-ej is taking a few steps back from forum life.
I really love this track, if i was to sum up my taste in drum & bass in one word, it would be "THE HORROR"... I have listened to this track an endless amount of times now and it just gets better every time. As soon as i heard the intro, I thought, this going to be something special, and boy was i right. The vocal is spot on and compliments the track perfectly. I love the samples this producer has used, from the very steppy beats that keeps your head nodding all through the track, to the ripping dark bass that just grips and chills you from the first time you hear it, util the very end. he little break down from around 2:30 is a nice touch, and lets face it, you would need it after 2 and a half minutes of dancing your arse off. It's not long though before yo are off and at em again. I would just like to congratulate you on this fantastic piece of work, it is simply brilliant and i love it. I hope to make something this good sooner or later.
i highly rate the drum work in this tune and if this is your first attempt at this sub genre you've done brilliantly, the raspy mid could possibly do with more dist. but bass real nice and punchy plus the percussive element just makes for a nice change up as to not let the track sound too repeditive... nice job only suggestion is maybe hp filter some reeces thru it sorta like u have done but more. overall very listenable little number ~
