Not bad as usual.
What do you want to reach by using cubase?

haha not a fan then, i think that although its harder work its quite rewarding, plus a fair amount of studio's are using it.

Hi 2Ginger

A good effort. I don't want to criticize this track because I can tell that you're really trying different things, and it's important to learn that way.

I think there are some techniques that might help you along your way.

Can I suggest some books that I think will really help you:

http://www.amazon.com/Mixing-Audio-Conce...s/dp/0240520688
(Roey Izhaki: Mixing Audio)

http://www.amazon.com/How-Make-Noise-Sim...ntt_at_ep_dpi_2
(Simon Cann: How to Make a Noise)

These books are cheap, and for where you're at, I think invaluable.

Also, definitely worthwhile reading the Cubase manual. It's a serious read, and insanely boring, but once you learn about the Cubase workflows, and understand where everything is, you will be able to master the techniques in the books I suggested quite quickly.

That's my 2c worth.

Regards

Nick

Yeah mate, cubase is pretty rough. I used it a lot for live recording stuff- didn't think it was too user-friendly couldn't even begin to fathom it for digital stuff. N.Eways sick drop! def wasn't expecting that after the intro. Very nice basses... any insight into how you dialed in that nice jump-up sound? I've been failing miserably at it for a good month now. I know this is still WIP so i'm not gonna say much about mix & adding fx... be interested to hear the final product fo sho.

nice little chilled intro, then BAM! not a bad start, drum sound is solid, maybe a little back in the mix, sub bass and overall bass sounds are good. keep at it, finished product should be quite good. I use cubase, have been for years, once you get on top of the learning curve youll never look back. Great program.

all the bass sounds were made with massive and fm8, although im not suprised you say that, its quite easy to replicate a familiar bass sound

Nice different flavour, sound is good too. Will need more variation for the final version if u carry on with it. Stay with the dark for longer before u drop the intro sample back in. Just my preference for mixing.
As always good stuff..
