I'm using FL Studio 9 and I have the main tempo set to 180. However there is a specific pattern/track that I want set to 140. Anybody know how I go about doing that? I know how to use automation clips to change the tempo of the entire song, but not just a single tracks. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks!

do this pattern in a new FL project set to 140, bounce to audio and drop it in the other project. I don't think there is a smarter solution

does that make sense by the way?

You can automate the time so when your pattern comes along, it switches to 140 bpm. Make an automation clip for the tempo (right click -> create auto. clip).

You cannot have patterns with separate tempos.

The only smarter solution I can think of is setting tempo of his project to 140, bouncing the pattern out and then setting tempo back to the original.

But why would you want to have a pattern at another tempo in the first place, I mean, without the other things joining the fun? Usually when I think of something so weird, it's because the things just don't fit together :p

You know, most great jazz is played out of tempo Smile
I just wanted to play around with it, but thanks for all the suggestions!

I think they mean more like time signature with this, like a 3/4 bassline under a 4/4 piano groove, still ending together at the 12th beat. In FL Studio your best bet at having different time signatures in the same song would be setting the Time Signature to 1 beat or something
