Hi everyone, i am having problem with all DAWs on my pc. I have ableton and cubase installed. After i work in them for about an hour or less blue screen appears. I was able to capture it on my camera: http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/889/81979039.jpg

I thought that something wrong with my audio driver when i saw RtkHDAud.sys so i downloaded the last version of it but it didn't help. Maybe someone can help me? Confused

Try reinstalling the driver, but make sure the current one is entirely uninstalled.

It seems to have something to do with the IRQ of your soundcard, IRQ is something we don't really notice anymore nowadays since it all goes "automatically". Could it be that something is trying to change the IRQ of your soundcard? Are you using Asio4all? Does it happen with your older projects too, and any other program besides DAWs?

Used to have this kind of shit back in the days...
Check the cooling fans, mine was broken back then.
The CPU got too hot and caused a BSOD.
Open the case and check the fan on the CPU.
If you have a laptop you are in deep shit Frown

blue screen death is what used to happen with early vista laptops.
google "blue screen death" and read lots and back everything up.
(you might have to go down the reformat road)
pain in the ass if you've got 7 zillion and one vsts to reinstall.

also some software that runs perfectly fine on xp will blue screen vista,
nero 6 and the old deamon tools to name a few.

and as bd has mentioned check the fans if your on a tower pc,
deep do do if your on a laptop.

If you'd have to reinstall then go for Windows 7 instead of Vista. It can only get better.

Thanks for your replies.

@Crispy Liquids Yes, i' m using Asio4All. It happens only in DAWs to all my projects, in can appear in Ableton 8 if i am trying to open new project while working with the other. I will try to reinstall the driver again, i think that i didn't delete my old driver completely.

@BattleDrone I' ve checked the cooling fans, they are clean and in good condition, I also have new power supply unit, it is about 2 months old, so i think that the problem isn't in it.

@Close Proximity Actually i use xp. But there are some progs that blue screen all the time. When i open NI massive through cubase and trying to drag and drop LFO, BSOD appears, and as i said before, Ableton crashes when trying to open new project.

That's wicked! Could've been much worse like failing hardware :-) (and that was the driver of onboard soundcard so.. would've been practically entire new comp)
