YES
always when Im bored and I got try and make a tune it never works out 7 outa 10 times
if it doesnt work from the start , stop with it , that saves you alot of time , go outside for a while , go out with friends or watch a movie instead. inspiration comes with transpiration , if you dont do shit except sitting behind your pc, then you will be stuck in the same thinking style wich leads to boring shit music
i lost alot of time back in the past, making shitty music for a whole day ...and at the end I deleted it because it sucked , ...
i loike to do things progressively if imake some thing come back to it next day if i think bits are shite take em out and replace them this is usually to do with my drums lol snare, this process goes on 4 a few weeks i have so many songs in pieces that i need to finish there off to a great start and i need desperately to finish
or even pc/mobile games... but then you tend to be absorbed by a silly game and play it for days and forget bout music.
when i don't have inspiration i usually play with the orchestral stuff in reason. but it always ends in close/don't save.

When producing doesn't work out:
- go sample hunting
- check out some tutorial vids for some plugins
- read the forums and post some stuff
- work your profiles
- ...
But stop trying if you feel it isn't your composing day.
