No I'm not a DJ yet
but I will soon live with a very nice girl who can spin some records, hope she can teach me
Anyway it shouldn't be too difficult to beatmatch a couple of recs, I'm a sound engineer after all, got good ears

Using mp3's in dj-sets that aren't yours is just lame. As a dj you use other people's music to entertain a crowd. So, you have to pay the artist that made the music. It's as simple as that imo.

Never been good in mixing with cd's or any other digital music sources (never practiced it a lot). My partner in crime though mixed even better with cd's than vinyl in the beginnin' (and I mean the simple cd-sytems, no Pioneer or Denon-stuff). Now he know's how to handle both, I really respect it, but I'm stickin' to vinyl. The way it feels, how to handle and manipulate it, takin' care of, washin' my records from time to time,....
I'm hooked...
