Did you check all the possible points where you can lower the volume or mute a mixer channel? I have this once in a while and 99% of the time I muted something.

Do you have more than one soundcard in your comp? If so look in the audio settings to check that the right one is selected.Infact it might be best to check even if you dont, you might have a choice of outputs, SPDIF or speaker or even HDMI.
This would be my first step, I'm guessing that your sound card is working fine otherwise?

When you add a sampler and leave it routed to the master on the mixer, then load a sample and play it, do you hear it?
If not the problem is either the master being all the way down, muted or the FL volume slider being down or wrong sound device settings.

Do you get audio in Windows?

It can be that you are using Asio4All drivers. If there is a program that holds your soundcard from before activating FLStudio and Asio4All, FL won't let any sound as the soundcard is locked with the regular WDM drivers by Windows.

Closing the programs in question (Firefox with Youtube, media players etc.) and restarting FLStudio solves this.

I have aready produced music with asio4all, so i know that it works my computer. Im starting to think the problem is something with the WDM Device list, which is under show ASIO panel, after you click on the wrench, but im not sure how to fix it

it may not be helpful but i had same symptoms in cubase with asio4all. i could hear the sound for 2 or three times but then silence although the OUTPUT showed activity, i heard nothing. seems like the same here.
don't know what to say. try with the non-asio version of your soundcard, that dx or mme, see what happens. i had the alternative to switch to reason. don't know what options you have.
good luck!

That happens if you push the limit on processing power. Happens to me too if I use too many effects and my buffer size in Asio panel is set too low.
