Black Sun Empire (BSE Recordings, NL)

Black Sun Empire represent the finest in dark and techy dancefloor drum & bass. Since bursting onto the scene back in 2000,
they’ve continued to develop their own unique style and sound, releasing numerous singles as well as three full-length LPs and establishing themselves as leaders in the field.
With their awesome DJ skills and inspirational productions, Black Sun Empire have reached far beyond their native Holland.
They’ve toured the world over, playing dates in the USA, UK, Russia, Korea, Australia and New Zealand to name but a few, and continue to build on their growing reputation as some of the most exciting and consistent performers around.
Black Sun Empire have been setting the pace again in 2009, with collaborations alongside the likes of Eye-D and N.Phect, remixes for Gridlok and Cause 4 Concern plus the launch of their new label Shadows of the Empire.
They're currently working on a new LP featuring drum & bass and dubstep productions and have more in store for 2010 from the likes of Mindscape, Telemetrik & Bulletproof across their labels.

Simon ‘Bassline’ Smith (Technique, UK)

Being a major player in the drum ‘n’ bass movement is one thing, but continuing to push boundaries through an ever-chaging sonic versatility is quite another.
In a career spanning almost two decades, Simon Bassline Smith has been at the forefront of it all, setting new standards with his Technique Recordings label and rinsing dancefloors with ruthless, stealth-like precision.
Together with razor-sharp duo Drumsound, the group have slam-dunked drum ‘n’ bass into the 21st century releasing some of the genre’s most pivotal club killers, whilst maintaining a DJ cred second-to-none.

Currently Smith is hard at work playing out every weekend in the UK and abroad, whilst spending his weekdays locked away in the studio with Drumsound focussing on producing tracks for their next album out in 2008.

With so much going on, it’s almost unbelievable to think Simon has time to run his famed Interface club night in Derby, yet true to form, the multi-talented man throws some of the finest d’n’b shindigs in the country. With so many strings to his bow, there’s little doubt this pioneer will continue to set the standard for years to come.

Stykz & Speedwagon

Born and raised in the neighbourhood of Diest - Tessenderlo and now living in leuven, these two selectas became standard in the Belgian drum'n'bass scene. Bagged with a heavy dj scedule they spinned (together or seperately) all over the country and beyond with a whole lot of heavyweight players in the game like Roni Size Reprazent, Pendulum Live, Aphrodite, DJ Hype, Noisia... in venues like Petrol Club (Antwerp), Waagnatie (Antwerp), Muziek-o-Droom (Hasselt), Hallen Van Schaarbeek (Brussels), Silo (Leuven) and at events like Laundry Day, Stealth Bombers, Rave Our Souls, Rock Herk, Breakdown...
Next to their dj'ing they were involved in the legendary Nightscapes (2000 - 2007), an independent quality free open air festival, that invited several of the finest (inter)national drum'n'bass, tek, hip hop, acid, dubstep artists and with at its last episode about 2000 partypeople having the time of their life from dusk till dawn.
Stykz also is a resident in der Machine in Leuven and Speedwagon had his own radioshow at Radio Scorpio.
Their double mix cd called “Watching Windows” that was released this month is a huge succes over the internet and they are happy to join the Conform Squad.

Iridium

About 10 years ago Iridium was overtaken by the DnB sounds of dj Leno and early mixtapes of Wontime and Shorty. He started organizing parties with the infamous ‘crooked cru’ alongside dj Leno en Redaiz. After a few years he decided to enter Dj Mania, in which he outplayed all 77 contestants. He got the chance to play at countries biggest parties including Pukkelpop, Star Warz, Petrol, StuBru, Breakdown, Rock Herk, Enterrock with the biggest names including Ed Rush & Optical, Commix, Logistics, Klute, Storm, Bad Company, Zinc, London Electricity, Panacea, Shy FX, Nymfo, Martyn … Needless to say he knows how to rock a party with his skills and selection!

The ‘Alert’ drum’n’bass train started rolling in 2004, when he played his first set for an audience at a local festival.
After that there’s was no stopping anymore. Now, at the end of 2009, Alert has played all over the country and beyond (Belgium, France, The Netherlands & Germany).
His aim is to set every dancefloor on fire, no matter what kind of party it is.
With a big collection of precious vinyl and (legal) mp3s, he can adapt to every crowd (techstep, liquid, darkstep, jump up, …).

MC D.O.C.

Fascinated by the early Beastie Boys and the rawness of Wu-Tang, D.O.C. started writing in 1995. While collaborating with many other L-Burg mc's, he defines himself as an anti-average mc, fighting against the stereotypes and boundaries associated with the hip hop industry. At that same time he gets gets hooked on graffiti. He takes on the name ShoZ One and participates in several local graffiti projects.
After teaming up with different writers and crews he joins Jungle Tactics in 2000. Later on that year they threw a legendary graffiti jam in the old mine buildings in Genk.
At the end of 2000 he was given the opportunity to expose his lyricism over drum & bass alongside different dj's and crews. Impressed by the energy and the feedback from the crowd, he decides to become a fulltime drum'n'bass mc. Nevertheless he remains active on the hip hop side of things. After more then a decade of mc-ing, D.O.C. became an infamous name in the Belgian drum'n bass scene.
In 2002 he becomes one of the founding members of Dedkob; a collaborations of several writers, dj's, mc's, graphic designers and organizers. They take on the scene by storm, and Dedkob became an infamous name in the Belgian and international scene.
After performing at many local venues and at several bigger festivals & graffiti jam, he continues to innovate and tries to create a positive image of lyricism in both hiphop and drum'n'bass.
Right now D.O.C.'s hitting the studio with a brand new hiphop project called "LEGENDS OF GREYTOWN" featuring Mc Wolfface, X-Savia and several guest appearances. The first try-out shows was a succes, so watch this space for future gigs.
