The Kings Of series has previously seen such luminaries as Masters At Work, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills and DJ Premier offer their takes on the origins and developments of their specialist genres, and their drum & bass installment is no different. 4 Hero are considered one of the pioneers of both jungle and drum & bass, developing the sound in the early '90s on their own Reinforced Records imprint with a series of releases that are still dear to the hearts of fans of the genre. The first disc will see them mix up a selection of classic hardcore era drum & bass with more recent material, which features cuts from Rufige Kru, A Guy Called Gerald, Tom & Jerry, Calibre and themselves.

DJ Marky takes the helm for disc two, with his selection focusing more on the last decade of the genre. Roni Size, Krust, Marcus Intalex, Random Movement and Nu:Tone all feature, while the last quarter of the mix is heavy on Marky's own upfront material, all of which was co-produced with Brazilian born Londoner S.P.Y. As with all of the previous Kings Of collections, the cover photo will again be provided by renowned photographer Michael Joseph. . its out mid February
