Hey I was wondering which glitch sample packs would be a good investment. If you guys could just give me a list of some notable packs, thatd be awesome.

Ez mate,
I honestly don't have any glitch sample packs and I've never looked into them or come across them much... Have you explored the idea of making your own samples?

^THAT^
Glitch is all about DIY, using sampled stuff will take away all originality in your track.

As far as I know, glitch is all about gathering samples (any samples) and then processing them into glitched stuff. So any sample pack would in fact do...

thanks for all the help from everyone. Unfortunately im not capable of making my own glitch sounds (i dont know how to time stretch or where to start if not there) and i was more under the influence that samples were used quite a bit for glitch beats

Samples are definitely used for glitch - but they are regular samples like breaks or synth samples you can find on this site and many others. The creative and fun and exciting part is taking non-glitch samples and then messing them up until they're glitchy imo.
What DAW are you using? If you're using FL, I know loads of ways you can mess up a sound and turn it into some IDM sort of thing.. I know in Reason its a little bit trickier (like I think there are timestretch combinators out there and stuff but DIY is a little trickier). Other than those bad boys I don't have experience in Cubase or Logic or the like but I imagine they've got the same (more?) possibilities than FL.
Also check out the dBlue Glitch VST, its got more of a practical use if you're doing things live but I'm pretty sure that you can simply export a loop after you mess around in the plugin.

I use logic, but ive used reason, FL and many others. I imagine i could just apply a ring shifter to a nonglitch sound and produce something glitchy.
thanks for the help.

Extreme pitch shifting can produce glitchy effects too.

In FL, throw a sample into a sampler, and on this screen:

You can glitch a lot in the "Time Stretching" section and "Precomputed effects" section. POGO & CRF will produce some wicked stuff almost every time :p
Besides that, FL also has the Squeeze effect which definitely produces the sounds you're looking for. You'll notice almost immediately I think
