Please check out my new track 'Tech Monster' and post your comments here!

Hi,

I'm really having a problem with this track. I've spent quite a while on the sound design of the bassline and drums 'cause I made up everything from sratch. But now I'm really having a complete writer's block on how to go on with it. I don't have any idea for further sounds and composition. Does any of you guys have some ideas? 'cause I really don't know where to take this song..

(Didn't really spent time on mixing yet. Just bounced this little loop straight out of Cubase..)

Some pad bits, synth bits, vocal bits, ...
just start messing with random elements and see what fits.... Or put it away for a few days and then try.

i think it could work with some ethereal sounding synth playing melodies over the top, to add momentum to the development i would recommend some fast percussion, maybe some tribal percussion or similar digitized sounds,in between or on the the extremes of some of the drops, id try with those 2 elements, and maybe some others, but not much of them, to try to create a more straight-sounding groove after a build with percussion without changing the rhythm of the featured bassline and drums, then drop that out again, maybe play a bit with 1 or 2 combinations of those elements, to develop it into another section, you could try to find overlaps between the harmony and timing of the new ethereal melody and the basic groove, then use that riff with elements of the previous section going in and out and various fills

dude, add in some more melodys and elements and mix them in with the synth you already got in there, wich sounds great, and do some automations with the drums and then spread the whole thing out and twist it out with the different layers. its a good start, has potential.
