Lot of chiptuner that playing chipbreak change the bassline with 8bit tunes and i think the bassline is the one characteristic of DnB.

So is it still in roots or not? Confused

Chiptune + Breakbeat = Chipbreak -> Roots of DnB ???

what I know about the roots, are that the beats came from a 60's song (I think it was) the song had something with amen in It's name, thats why its called the amen beat.

IDM/glitch/whatever is often said to be heavily influenced by DnB, and I think that's because the production methods are similar. I mean, you tend to chop up a break, and then just make ridiculous edits with or without effects - and some IDM/Glitch tunes sound more like some Drum and Bass or Drumfunk or Break tunes than others.

I think that Chipbreak or whatever might be influenced by it, but not necessarily a subgenre of Drum and Bass. With IDM and glitch type styles you can really do whatever the hell you want, there aren't any rules.
