Have you guys heard about Linux Multimedia Studio? Apparently its got support for Windows and Mac, looks like it could be very promising.

"Linux Multimedia Studio".... hmmm.... I wonder if that could possible offer Linux support.... probably not, it's probably just a silly name to sell more copies.
Anyway, looks like a very cheap FL studio clone with some Cubase approach at several places. The version number says 0.4.5 which has a certain reason, it is still far from v1.0. A lot of things look and function very clumsy, but I am sure there's a future for this, at least it will force people offering a commercial DAW to work their asses of to stand a chance against freeware.

well there is already a sequencer as part of linux im told thats specificly for the linux distro. its also far more advanced than this. so maybe this isnt so much aimed at the cubase logic fl market and more traktion and smaller sequencers like that. i must say though it doesnt look very nice, i know thats no way to judge a daw but i dont think it would be inspiring for me to sit infront of that and try and come up with somethin

From their site: 2009-08-11: LMMS 0.4.5 has been released! It's available for both Linux and Windows.
Mystery solved...
So I tried it and must say it's like Fruity-gone-bady-Loops. not yet there. Poor looks like most open source projects, the whole thing is clumsy and the controls just don't respond the way you would like them to.

It is not shit. It doesn't work as it should, but it is still less than half way till version one, what do you expect?
I remember FL Studio started as a simple step sequencer, and now it is a full fledged DAW.

It's certainly undeveloped. I figured I would post it so that people could keep an eye on it, because with enough developers working on it, this could evolve into something great.

I'm even thinking of getting involved in this project (for GFX, beta testing,...) it's a good way to get it to move in the direction you want.

that and the appearing of more (good) free progs will make the big software companies work more on next versions to make a difference
